Report: Vincent Janssen’s time at Tottenham could be coming to an end this summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s season will come to a climax tomorrow night when they face Liverpool in the Champions League final.

One player who will not be in the dressing room for the match and considered for selection is Vincent Janssen.

The Dutchman who came back from the Spurs wilderness earlier this year was not included in the Champions League squad and therefore could not feature in the match in Madrid.

Despite being recalled to the squad following the injury to Harry Kane, many still question his long-term future in North London.

Russian news outlet Championat are reporting that Lokomotiv Moscow are interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Janssen has failed to bring his goalscoring form from the Eredivisie to the Premier League having only managed to score six goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the lilywhites.

The player is out of contract next summer with the report suggesting that he could be available in the current transfer window for just £7million.

Opinion

It just hasn’t worked out for Janssen at Tottenham and unfortunately does not have the quality to be a capable back up for Harry Kane. A £7m deal would represent a loss for Spurs, but it is certainly better than seeing him leave on a free twelve months later.
