Some supporters vent their frustration at Spurs defender who is labelled a pub player

Tottenham Hotspur decided to send some of their young players out on loan at the start of the season to gain first-team football experience.

Among those who departed on a temporary basis were Kaziah Sterling, Luke Amos, Jack Roles and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

While Roles has been impressing for Cambridge United having recently won the League Two goal of the month award (Cambridge News), Carter-Vickers has experienced some tough times at Stoke City.

The USA international, who typically plays as a central defender was asked to operate at right-back for their Championship match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

After losing the match 2-1, some Potters fans took to social media to vent their frustration at the performance of the 21-year-old.

Carter-Vickers spent last season on loan at Swansea City, having also spent spells with Ipswich Town and Sheffield United during the 2017/18 campaign.

Here’s what some fans had to say following the defeat.

Opinion

Carter-Vickers’ is currently somewhat way down on the central defensive pecking order at Spurs behind the likes of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Foyth, Dier, Sanchez and Tanganga.

By the sounds of it, he is doing his chances of a permanent move no favours at all.
