Spurs confirm squad for the pre-season tour of the Far East

The Tottenham Hotspur squad and backroom staff have today boarded their flight for their Far East pre-season tour.

Spurs will play Juventus in Singapore on Sunday which will be followed by a match against Manchester United in Shanghai on Thursday 25th July.

There were some notable absentees from the travelling party for various reasons with the likes of Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama missing out due to their recent involvement in respective tournaments for their nations while Danny Rose and Kieran

Trippier are left out for other reasons which are somewhat more significant.
With some first team players missing, it has allowed Mauricio Pochettino to take a closer look at some of his academy players.

The Spurs boss has decided to include the likes of Troy Parrott, Jack Roles, Harvey White and Jamie Bowden.

The inclusion of some of the youth players worked well in last season’s tour of the USA with Oliver Skipp and Luke Amos both impressing and subsequently rewarded with Premier League debuts.

Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen are both included in the squad.
