Spurs confirm why Hugo Lloris misses out against Wolves today

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that Hugo Lloris misses today’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers through injury.

The French goalkeeper was nowhere to be seen in Jose Mourinho’s squad when it was announced on social media at 13:00.

Lloris, who is the club captain saw the armband handed instead to former academy product Harry Winks for the first time in what is no doubt a proud moment for the boyhood Spurs fan.

Paulo Gazzaniga, who deputised for Lloris during his lengthy spell out with an elbow injury earlier in the season comes back into the starting eleven with Michel Vorm taking his place on the substitutes bench.

The Spurs official Twitter account revealed just five minutes after the team was revealed that Lloris has to sit out the visit of Wolves due to a groin problem.

Gazzaniga has shown that he is more than a capable deputy but needs to iron out the silly mistakes in his game, just like what we saw with his decision making against Chelsea when he was guility of giving away a penalty just before half time in the 2-0 defeat prior to Christmas.
