Spurs legend believes club need to recruit above Pochettino

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts believes that the club should look to appoint a technical director.

A report in today’s the Daily Telegraph suggested that Tottenham’s next signing should be a technical director to future proof their impressive progress over recent seasons.

Tottenham have just gone through two transfer windows without bringing in any new players to bolster the quality of the squad or even to keep some of the existing stars on their toes with an injection of talent to try and create more competition for places.

Roberts believes that a technical director would help to alleviate the pressure on Pochettino in trying to identify players and feels that his strengths lie on the coaching side rather than recruiting fresh faces to his team.

Spurs are currently on a run of poor form which has put their chances of a top four finish this season at jeopardy having only managed to pick up a sole point from a possible twelve available.
