Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on one of their rumoured transfer targets after it was announced that Justin Kluivert has joined Roma.
The Ajax striker has joined for an initial £15m [€17.25m] for with deal including a number of performance-related clauses, based on the player and the club.
Kluivert, 19, has just one year left on his deal in Amsterdam and the relationship between the player and club had become frosty.
He previously hit out at the club for trying to sell him to Spurs along with former team-mate Davinson Sanchez.
It was reported that Kluivert was offered to Spurs for £20million but the forward didn’t feel ready to make the switch abroad.
Kluivert made 30 appearances for Ajax in the Eredivisie last season, scoring 10 goals.
