Spurs player joins La Liga side on loan

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Anthony Georgiou has joined Spanish club Levante on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old made his senior debut as a substitute in the 3-0 Champions League victory to APOEL in December 2017 when he came on in the 84th minute as a late replacement for Moussa Sissoko but has failed to break through on a regular basis with the likes of Oliver Skipp and Luke Amos.

Georgiou has been a regular feature in Tottenham’s Under-23 side this season and will gain some valuable footballing experience in Spain.

The left winger has come up through the ranks at Tottenham and is already a full international for Cyprus.

Levante are currently in twelfth place in the Spanish top flight having won seven, drawn five and lost nine of their 21 matches.

He was part of Tottenham’s squad which travelled to the USA for the pre-season tour and impressed in the friendly against Barcelona, despite missing a penalty in the shoot out after the game ended as a 2-2 draw.
