It is being reported in various newspapers and on a number of websites (inc. SSN) that Spurs have re-entered the race to sign Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
It is even reported that Harry himself has been quoted as saying, “The lad is a very good goalscorer and I’m still interested in him. I know of Stuttgart’s involvement but I’m hoping we will still be able to do something. There’s a lot of talk about who I may or may not be after but Huntelaar is the one I like.”
Exciting if true, but would the signing of Huntelaar rule out a bid for Crouch? Let’s hope so! I’m aware of Crouch’s record in the premier league and being a proven premier league goal scorer. But Huntelaar is in a different league in my opinion. I had the pleasure of watching him a few times last season and his first touch, striking of the ball and movement off the ball are superb.
If we move for Crouch and Huntelaar then that would pretty much signal the end for Bent and possibly Pav and Keane and that wouldn’t be a good thing in my opinion. I still think Pav has quite a bit to prove at Spurs and Keane is a Spur through and through but, who knows, some new blood may be just what the doctor ordered.
