Spurs trio demanding bumper deals to stay at the club

The Sun are reporting that the Tottenham Hotspur trio of Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose along with Christian Eriksen are demanding huge pay-rises to sign new contracts with the club.

After Harry Kane was given a new contract in May which smashed the club’s wage structure, some of his team-mates are now apparently seeking contracts that reflect the striker’s contract.

Kane signed a new six-year deal which is reported to be worth £200,000-a-week, plus bonuses and now other players are looking for substantial raises to extend their contracts at the club.

When does each of their current contract’s expire?

Toby Alderweireld (2019 – 2020)

The Belgian’s contract situation at Tottenham is arguably the most publicised of all players. His contract contains a one-year extension option, which is scheduled to activate in the summer of 2019 and would see him contracted until 2020. But it also features a £25m release clause. In the summer of 2019, the central defender would be permitted to leave if a rival club were to pay £25m and complete the transfer at least 14 days before the closure of the window.

Danny Rose (2021)

Much has been said about the England international’s future at the club and is currently under contract until 2021. He has expressed an interest in moving back ‘north’ to play before the end of his career.

Christian Eriksen (2020)

The Dane’s current deal runs out in just two years time, it would be a huge blow if arguably our most creative player was allowed to walk away for free.
