VIDEO: Pienaar puts family first in Everton return

Steven Pienaar has revealed that one of the major factors in his return to Everton was the fact that his family did not adapt to life in London.

The South African left Tottenham after just a few months to return to Goodison Park in a £4.5million deal – maybe this was the main reason why he failed to make an impact during his short time at the Lane?

The 30-year-old only managed 10 appearances in Spurs colours before joining Everton on loan in January 2012. His sale represents a £1.5million profit for Spurs.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Speak the truth Steven you are not good enough for Tottenham you did not even get on the bench. Why do they keep on linking this player to Tottenham? We do not want to know what he has to say we are glad he is gone let him dream his dreams somewhere else

  2. Irene, if Pienaar is/was not good enough for spurs then why sign him in the first place? He wasn`t even on our bench when we beat you at goodison so he`s signed for a better club. Why are you bitter about him? He has never once said a bad word about spurs who are just for me, starting to become a little too arrogant for their own good. We are glad he`s gone too. To Everton. We are and always have been and always will be, bigger & better than you.

    • So much bigger and better that you haven't been close to finishing above us in at the least the last 4 seasons? Must be a nice world you live in mate.
