Summer transfer target admits he is a Tottenham Hotspur fan

Alex Scott may not have ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer after years of speculation, but the Bournemouth starlet has now revealed that he is a boyhood Spurs fan

After making his name in the Championship with Bristol City, Alex Scott was courted by a number of top flight clubs over the last couple of years, with Tottenham included (Ben Jacobs – Chris Cowlin’s YouTube channel).

Scott made 91 appearances for the Robins scoring six goals and registering seven assists across all competitions prior to his exit (Transfermarkt).

Ultimately, the youngster was always destined for the Premier League this summer, and while Spurs looked to be right in the hunt, it was eventually Bournemouth who won the race for the highly-rated 20-year-old.

Scott signed for the Cherries in a £25m deal (Guardian) on the cusp of the start of the Premier League campaign, but injury issues have limited the playmaker to just four appearances in all competitions this season so far (Transfermarkt).

There is sure to be more to come from the promising talent, but Spurs fans will just be happy to know that there is another supporter ready to join their ranks.

In an appearance on the Filthy Fellas podcast, Alex Scott was asked about his footballing upbringing, and more specifically, which football club he actually supports, and it seems he’s a secret Lilywhites fan.

In response to the question, Scott said: “Tottenham. I have always been a Spurs fan.”

As much as people like to claim that Spurs are disliked, it’s just undeniable that we are massive. From Adele to Tom Holland, and now players like Alex Scott, everyone actually loves Tottenham Hotspur and it’s time the world admitted we’re simply the best club.

In all seriousness, I can definitely see Alex Scott signing for Spurs one day, if his career takes off at Bournemouth in the way I expect it will eventually.
