Swansea closing in on Carroll deal

It seems like Swansea City have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll for what seems to be an eternity and Sunday’s rumour mill is once again rearing its head.

According to The Sun, the Swans are closing in on a deal for the former England Under-21 international but Carroll is said to be concerned about joining a club who could lose their Premier League status.

Carroll has previously played for Swansea having spent the 2014/2015 season on loan at the Welsh club and made 13 appearances.

He has found first team football difficult to come by, especially with the emergence of Harry Winks who has moved considerably ahead in the pecking order.

At 24, Carroll should be playing regular first-team football and I would say that it’s time that he moved on to pastures new.
