‘That goes without saying’ – Winger says he loved his time at Tottenham

Arnaut Danjuma has been reflecting on his brief time at Tottenham Hotspur last season, and insisted he enjoyed the loan spell because of the fans.

In something of a shock move at the end of the January transfer window, Spurs hijacked Arnaut Danjuma‘s proposed move to Everton. The Dutchman was all but ready to sign on at Goodison Park, but opted to join the Lilywhites instead.

That decision ultimately proved to be unwise for both parties, as Danjuma was limited to just 12 appearances for Spurs, totalling less than 200 minutes on the pitch. He did score two goals in that time (Transfermarkt).

Danjuma, sadly, just never managed to make himself a first-team regular under Antonio Conte, or Ryan Mason in the latter stages of the campaign.

Spurs decided against extending Danjuma’s stay in North London this summer, with Ange Postecoglou signing Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon to bolster his attacking roster instead.

Funnily enough, Danjuma has now found his way to Everton, having joined on a season-long loan from Spanish side Villarreal. He has two goals in seven games for the Toffees and could be key to them surviving in the Premier League this year (Transfermarkt).

Over on Instagram recently, Danjuma was asked whether he enjoyed his short time with Tottenham Hotspur, and his response may be a surprise to some after the difficulties he faced there.

He replied: “That goes without saying, because of the support from the fans!”

The one thing any player can rely on is the fact that Tottenham fans will treat them well, as long as they show heart and determination and work hard. Danjuma’s time at Spurs didn’t work out for whatever reason, but he always put in plenty of effort on the pitch and that’s all we can ask for.
