Spurs Supporters’ Trust reveal club have responded to request for meeting

The Tottenham Hotspurs Supporters’ Trust (THST) have revealed that the club has acknowledged their request for a meeting with the Executive Board to seek an explanation regarding the club’s strategy.

The Tottenham hierarchy have made some controversial decisions over the last couple of years that has led to many fans voicing their discontent.

The club’s decision to put some non-technical staff on the government’s furlough scheme last year was met with widespread disapproval, forcing them to change their decision while the European Super League debacle also led to fan protests.

The way things have gone on the pitch over the last couple of years has only added to the discontent some fans feel towards the ownership.

THST revealed this week that an increasing number of Trust members and fans have expressed great concern over the direction in which the club is headed.

The Trust confirmed they had asked for a meeting with the club’s Executive Board to discuss both the short and long-term strategic vision for the football club.

THST added that in the meeting, they would seek clarifications regarding “plans for this season and beyond, an explanation of how success will be measured and how the club’s DNA will be regained”.

They have now revealed that the club have acknowledged their request for a meeting and are currently considering whether they want to accept the invitation.

The club certainly cannot refuse to meet with THST as that will not go down well with the fan base. I suspect that they will try to put off a meeting for a few weeks and hope that results improve so that they could offer a better defence/explanation behind their decision to appoint Nuno.
