Spurs fans are looking for who can step up to the plate in the absence of Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon over the next couple of weeks and Mousa Dembele knows who to count on.
The Belgian midfielder has earmarked Clint Dempsey as one of the players who can help fill the void and help keep our Champions League hopes on track. The pair played together at Fulham, so Dembele knows what the American international is capable of – it’s also refreshing to see Dembele publically back his team-mates which just goes to show how high team spirit is at the club.
If Dempsey can start banging in the goals, starting with Everton on Sunday then it will be a huge boost for us.
Dembele said: “I remember from my time at Fulham he was very important so I know what he can do.
“He can score important goals as well. He has just come back from injury but before that he was showing some good form.
“That’s the reason I have confidence – but there are other players as well.”
