“Toby is magical” – Some fans praise Spurs defender for goal-saving clearance

Toby Alderweireld has showed some superb defending to save Tottenham Hotspur from conceding an equaliser against Cardiff City.

On 22nd minutes, Danny Rose allowed Murphy to lift the ball over Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld managed to get a foot to the ball before Junior Hoilett. It was defending of the highest quality from the Belgian centre half.

Some will say that Lloris should have come for the ball, but given his current form after his mistake against Barcelona he is probably doubting his positioning after a number of weeks sidelined through injury.

Some Tottenham fans took to Twitter to praise Alderweireld for his defending in what seemed to look like Cardiff were about to draw level. Levy, if you’re reading this – get the new contract for Toby sorted.
