Tottenham confirm five players are to miss the cup clash against Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed via their official Twitter account that five players will miss the North London derby against Arsenal tomorrow evening.

Spurs visit the Emirates in the Quarter Final of the Carabao Cup looking to gain some revenge for the frustrating 4-2 defeat in the Premier League earlier this month.

Mauricio Pochettino has been dealt a blow with the news that Jan Vertonghen has been ruled out until the New Year after sustaining a thigh injury during the 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Mousa Dembele (ankle) and Serge Aurier (groin) are continuing with on-field rehabilitation, while Eric Dier is recovering after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix earlier this week and is expected to be out of action until January.

Victor Wanyama has experienced an injury hit couple of seasons at Spurs with knee injuries and is currently stepping up his rehab with gym work.

There are some positives for Spurs fans with the news that Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez have both returned to training after recovering from respective hamstring issues.
