Tottenham confirm that defender has left the club

There has been transfer activity at Tottenham Hotspur this evening, but unfortunately it isn’t a case of any incomings at the club.

Instead, it came as an announcement on the official Spurs Twitter page to confirm that Anton Walkes has joined Portsmouth on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old versatile defender spent 2017 on loan at MLS side Atlanta United, before returning to Spurs in January of this year and made three appearances for our Under-23 side.

He joined Portsmouth on loan at the end of January and impressed enough where manager Kenny Jackett has decided to make the move permanent. He made twelve appearances during his loan stint, scoring one goal.

Walkes is a graduate of Tottenham’s academy and made his senior debut from the bench in a League Cup victory over Gillingham in September 2016. Best of luck for the future, Anton.
