Tottenham’s £10million man who is yet to play a league match this season

Tottenham Hotspur made their first signing in over 500 days when early last month they signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United.

The 18-year-old joined the Champions League finalists in a deal for around £10 million, with Clarke putting pen to paper on a four year contract (Telegraph).

With Tottenham having a host of players who can operate in the final third of the pitch, it seemed logical that Clarke was loaned back to Leeds for the upcoming season to continue his footballing education.

Clarke made just five starts in his 25 appearances for the Championship outfit last season (Telegraph).

However, he is still yet to feature for Leeds in the Championship this season and was left out completely out of their squad for their 2-0 win at Wigan on Saturday.

Leeds Live claim that Clarke could be missing out due to rules that allow a club to only name five loanees in a match day squad.

The Elland Road side had Illan Meslier, Ben White, Jack Harrison, Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah in their side for the trip to Wigan which meant that there was no space for Clarke.

Opinion

Should this continue, it will be interesting to see whether Spurs look to re-allocate Clarke to another side later in the season.
