Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent has spoken about his experience of playing with Benoit Asssou-Ekotto.
The left-back is renowned for being a maverick and has previously spoken openly about how he does not consider football to be a passion and instead treated his career in the professional player as a job to earn money (Guardian).
Bent claimed that the Cameroonian international hated training but would always put in an impressive performance on a match day.
The former England international speculated that one of the reasons why Assou-Ekotto may have played so well is down to the fact that his heart was not in it.
