Paulo Gazzaniga is certainly flavour of the month among the Tottenham Hotspur fans after his penalty saving heroics last night.
The goalkeeper impressed on his Premier League debut last November against Crystal Palace and has had to wait patiently for another opportunity between the sticks after finding himself behind Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm in the goalkeeping pecking order.
After Vorm picked up a knee injury, Gazzaniga played during the win against Brighton last weekend and showed his quality again in the win against Watford by saving two penalties during the shoot out.
There was a nice moment after the match when Gazzaniga embraced Tottenham’s goalkeeping coach Toni Jiminez as they celebrated booking our place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Surely, Gazzaniga has now done enough to take Vorm’s place as Lloris’ understudy?
