Video: Hugo Lloris produces impressive save to help France to beat Portugal

Hugo Lloris has continued his impressive start to the season by producing a stunning save while on international duty.

The 33-year-old retook his place in goal and as captain after sitting out Wednesday’s surprise 2-0 friendly defeat to Finland when he led out his country in last night’s Nations League match against Portugal.

The away side took the lead in the 53rd minute through Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and had Lloris to thank for securing all three points to keep them at the top of Group 3.

Cristiano Ronaldo picked up the ball on the right-wing and drove into the penalty area in the 74th minute before laying the ball in the path of Joao Moutinho who unleashed an effort destined for the top right corner of the goal only to see Lloris claw it away to safety with his fingertips.

Lloris returned to the Spurs side at the turn of the year following his dislocated elbow and has put in some eye-catching displays, notably against Manchester City in February and Leicester City in July.
