Video: “It’s become even more special” – Hoddle tells fans of his love for Tottenham

Glenn Hoddle was a welcome sight on the Tottenham Hotspur pitch at half time during the Premier League fixture against West Ham United.

The former Spurs player and midfielder suffered a heart attack in the BT Sport studios on his 61st birthday back in October (BBC).

A member of BT Sport’s production crew, Simon Daniels, used first-aid training to help Hoddle in the moments after the medical incident, and Hoddle was later admitted to St Bartholomew’s Hospital and following surgery, the Spurs legend responded well to treatment and was able to recuperate at home.

Hoddle and Daniels were both guests of the club at the new stadium yesterday, with Hoddle receiving a fantastic welcome from the supporters, who he thanked for their support.

It’s fantastic to see Hoddle looking so fit and well after what has been such a difficult time for him and his family over the past few months. Hopefully the Spurs players can give him something to cheer about with a victory against Ajax on Tuesday.
