Tottenham Hotspur scraped into the fifth round of the FA Cup after a nervy match against Southampton in North London.
Following Sunday’s high against Manchester City, Spurs looked second best against the Saints under the lights this evening and can consider themselves fortunate to have won the match.
After Heung-min Son’s late penalty rescued Spurs from not only extra time but also an exit in the cup competition which represents our best chance of ending our eleven year wait for silverware.
Following the final whistle, Jose Mourinho was heard on camera telling Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl that the best team lost in an honest admission that Spurs were not at the races.
