Christian Eriksen isn’t known as ‘maestro’ among his Tottenham Hotspur teammates for nothing. The Dane produced an absolutely stunning pass during the second half against Chelsea on Thursday evening.
Just moments after Spurs had got themselves back in the tie when Fernando Llorente nodded home to make it 2-2 on aggregate, Eriksen picked up the ball on the right flank and pinged a beautiful ball on the half volley into the path of the Spaniard.
Rather than try to take a touch to bring the ball under control, Llorente attempted to strike the ball first time and made a complete mess out of the opportunity which deserved better considering the quality of the delivery.
If Harry Kane had been on the end of it, maybe the end result would have been different.
