Watch: Chris Sutton makes bold claim about Harry Kane

Former Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has claimed that Mauricio Pochettino should not start Harry Kane in the Champions League final, even if he is fit.

Sutton has a reputation for trying to be a controversial pundit and was asked the question by Robbie Savage during BT Sport’s Score program.

While Michael Owen and Jermaine Jenas had no hesitation in saying that Kane should play, Sutton believes that they are statistically better without him in the team and should keep faith with the same team.

Kane has been out of action since picking up a significant ankle injury during the first leg of the quarter final against Manchester City last month.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already stated that he hopes the marksman will be fit to face Liverpool in June 1st in Madrid (Sky Sports).

Kane’s record in front of goal means that if he is fully fit, he must start in the eyes of most Spurs fans.
