When does the January transfer window open and close for Tottenham?

Tottenham Hotspur are suffering something of an injury crisis right now, so all eyes are on the January transfer window for new recruits to Ange Postecoglou’s squad. Here’s when the window opens and closes.

The Lilywhites had a very busy, and very successful summer under their new manager, with the likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, and Guglielmo Vicario proving to be top signings for Spurs.

Unfortunately, Ange Postecoglou has been without Maddison and van de Ven for close to two months now due to injuries. The Spurs boss has also seen various other players missing from action through injuries and suspensions.

It is no secret that Spurs are keen to sign a new centre-back as a priority in the January transfer window (Telegraph). That necessity has deepened now given the news that Cristian Romero will also miss four to five weeks with a hamstring injury (Football.London).

When does the transfer window open and close?

Spurs may be in the hunt for a top four spot right now (or even a title challenge, depending on how optimistic you are), but if they are to keep this up, the January transfer window will be a very important time for the club.

While it may seem obvious to some, the official start and end of the winter window isn’t always as straightforward as you’d think, so here are the dates you need to keep an eye on.

The January transfer window for the Premier League opens on January 1, 2024 from midnight. Clubs will actually have until 11pm GMT on February 1 to complete any deals, which is actually 24 hours longer than last January.

Spurs Web Opinion

Regardless of when the window closes, we should be aiming to have our key business wrapped up very quickly. If a new centre-back isn’t turning up at the club on January 1, I think a lot of fans will be very disappointed and worried.
