Wilshere gives surprising verdict on Tottenham

Jack Wilshere will never be seen in a good light in Tottenham, and it’s even more remarkable when he’s actually mentioning us in a positive light.

We’re typically used to the injury prone, vertically challenged idiot spouting off one of his “What do you think of Tottenham?” chants, but surprisingly his answer to that question would now be “great”.

While many of Tottenham players were due to be on international duty, such as the likes of Harry Winks, who had to withdraw from injury. Wilshere was again overlooked, this time for Burnley’s Jack Cork.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that the next fixture for Mauricio Pochettino’s side is the north London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Personally, I hope he starts the match and then he’ll know just how far out of his depth he is compared to the likes of Winks, Dele and Dier.

“They’ve come a long way in the last few years,” Wilshere said told Sky Sports.

“They finished above us last year, and we want to finish above them this year.

“But it’s not all about that, we don’t just look at them. We want to finish as high as we can.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game. It’s at the Emirates, so we have to take the game to them.”

When asked if Tottenham are now the top side in north London, Wilshere failed to give a direct answer:

“We’ll see. You’re only as good as your last game. We lost our last game and we need to bounce back.

“It’s a massive game, and we’re looking to get three points. We’ll be ready for it.”
