Tomorrow is the first North London derby of the season between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs fans are already waiting to see what team Harry Redknapp will select for the clash at the Emirates, will David Bentley get the chance to shine against his former side?
Have your say below by leaving your Spurs starting eleven.
Here’s what we have come up with:-
Gomes
Corluka – King – Woodgate – Assou-Ekotto
Bentley – Huddlestone – Palacios – Bale
Keane – Crouch
Have something to tell us about this article?
Jenas for Huddlestone, Kranjcar for Bale.
jenas for thudd, naughton for corluka, kranjcar for bale :) that should be the team :)
I lkie this line up however if Lennon is fit I’d play him instead of Bale as he has the capability to play on both wings.
I would have Hutton for Charlie
Bale on the left
Jenas in the centre with Palacios
I think bently on the wing could be a blessing in disguise as his crossing of the ball is better than lennon and with crouch up front that only means goals goals and more goals C.O.Y.S! My starting XI would be-
Gomes
Corluka King Woodgate Ekotto
Bently Palacios Huddlestone/Jenas Kranjcar
Keane
Crouch
totally aggree with dilly crump about hutton for corluka. hes a bit to slow to deal with ashavin. i think we shud attempt the line up against chelsea. have keane and crouch upfront.
jenas huddleston and palacios in the middle. hutton king woodgate if possible if not dawson, and mayb try bale on the left. Assou ekkoto has been leaking goals at the ends of games.
Naughton for Corluka, jenas or Kranjcar for Hudd and if lennon was fit i’d have him in a free role behind Crouch as he would do a lot of damage being on the right sometimes limits the amount of ball he gets.
I’d agree with the first couple of posters. The team’s more or less as stated, but changing JJ for Thudd and Kranjcar for Bale.
With Bentley on the pitch we don’t have any need for Bale’s dead-ball efforts, and you’re more likely to trouble the Arsenal full-backs with trickery than pace. Plus Crouch would benefit from Niko’s better crossing.
As for Thudd vs JJ, the general rule is: Thudd against the minnows, JJ against the big boys. JJ would close down and harrass the Arsenal midfield far more than Thudd, and he tends to be motivated (and score) against the bigger teams. Between Sgt Wilson and JJ we shouldn’t be giving Fabric-ass and Arse-shavings much space to play with.
who are the subs?
65 minute gamechanger
85 scorer…holding player……depending
team as above with jenas or hudd depending on the gooner counterparts
we have to dominate as much midfiled and not play deep
send the ball in bentley!!!
good team but worried about corluka with and if ashravin starts cause with his pace corluka needs some help at back. bale good player still needs a chance and he does have a sweet left foot for cross’s and free kicks and he has a bit of pace, jenas in for huddlestone but if were going to play passing game also then we kranjcar to start as he will be our play maker also i reckon with bentley on the right.
Gomes
Corluka King Woodgate BaE
Bentley Jenas Huddlestone Palacios Kranjcar
Crouch
Think a 4-5-1 could be worth a gamble
