5 things we learned from Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur treated their fans to a fine display last Saturday afternoon, overcoming newly-promoted Fulham 3-1 at Wembley.

The doom and gloom surrounding club after the transfer window inaction and the postponement of the move-in date to the new stadium, was swiftly overcome after the 60,000 people in attendance were treated to some excellent football by Pochettino’s men.

The result also took Spurs to the summit of the league table, all be it just for 24 hours before Man City and Liverpool took to the field on Sunday and Monday respectively. Here are 5 things we learned about the team, from the performance against Fulham:

Spurs fans must be sick to death of hearing this cliche over and over again but yesterday showed without any doubt that this is indeed a statement of fact. After spending the second half of last season adapting to our style of play and after having gone through a full pre-season, Moura now looks a different player.
Apart from his pace and quality on the ball, his ability to win the ball back and press the opposition constantly, was a joy to watch. He looks like a perfect Pochettino player and it will be exciting to see what he can do this season. Given Moura’s fine display, Lamela’s brilliant 20 minute cameo and with Son yet to return from the Asian games, perhaps we can see why the club was hesitant to spend over 60 million on the likes of Zaha or Martial.
