Keeper lets in four. At least three were probably beyond him. He did keep us in it first half. This week, in a defensive horror show, the mistakes weren’t his.

Match Summary

Make no mistake, and it’s a brave or masochistic Spurs supporter who chooses to read this, we were given a hiding by an Arsenal side that thoroughly deserved to win, that also went above us in the table.

There was some talk in the last week that this wasn’t such a big game for Spurs any longer, that there were other, bigger games in the calendar. Yeh, right. They turned up for a London derby and we turned up for a friendly (or unfriendly as it increasingly became in our frustration).

The blame? Right between the cross hairs for me, Mauricio Pochettino. There was presumably some reason for not playing Alderweireld but it cost us the game. Pochettino is also responsible for getting the collective mindset right and it was nowhere from the off.

We had a bit of the game either side of halftime but we were just plain fortunate to go in at the interval in front. The inquest that went on at Chelsea this week following our win was extensive and ruthless. Is Pochettino able to put himself under such a spotlight this week? Who at the club is actually doing any work on Alderweireld’s contract?

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Make no mistake, you’ve got some front giving any of your players anything above zero for anything. Apart from cheating, fouling, diving and moaning they did nothing
