It is often an opportunity for clubs to try something different, or something a bit out of the ordinary that perhaps goes against tradition.

Some fans like this, others prefer tradition. Regardless, there have been some memorable away kits over the years for various clubs. Tottenham is no different.

The club have produced some woeful away kits over the years, but also some top-class kits.

Purple was the theme for Tottenham in 2011/12. The club’s shirt sponsor Puma produced a marvellous purple kit that the Club would wear on most away days.

Just like its predecessor, the kit was simplistic and neat. A white trim was used on the sleeve ends as well as the collar around the neck.

Purple hadn't featured too many times on a Spurs away shirt in the past, but yet it was to be known at the time, but purple would become a popular colour at the club in the future.

Tottenham’s new stadium exterior lights often glow in purple, and if any of the leaks are to be true, then it looks as if the club is set to reintroduce purple into their away kit this season.
