2016/17 was a great season in terms of Tottenham kits, for the most part at least. The less said about Tottenham’s third kit the better, but coming in at number one is the 2016/17 away kit.

Gold was clearly the theme for this season, with all three kits featuring the colour. The away kit was a dark blue with gold serving as a secondary colour for the collar, sleeve trim, and sponsorships.

Gold almost always works on a football kit and this is no different. It demands glory, and glory is what it got. Whilst Spurs didn’t win any silverware with it, they went on to have one of their best seasons in decades, racking up 86 points to finish second in the Premier League.

It was also their final season at White Hart Lane, a place with rich history and prestige. Its fair to say that The Lane was farewelled with a kit that echoed glory in the legacy of the late Bill Nicholson.
