Gallery: The top five best Spurs kits from the 1990s

Retro football kits are always top sellers. Fans always love reflecting upon the good old days of their football club and relive these memories by purchasing a retro kit that mimics the original kit.

One of the great things about Tottenham Hotspur is the shirt design. The club have produced some magnificent kits over the years – so in this list, we reflect on the top five home kits that Spurs wore during the 1990s.

We have had some wonderful players who have graced the Lane over the decade in question who have donned our beloved colours.

Tottenham’s introduced a very special kit in 1997. They released a kit that would be worn from the 1997/98 season to the 1998/99 season.

It was the second season that Pony manufactured Spurs kits following a short stint from Umbro in the previous years. Pony’s first attempt at a Tottenham kit wasn’t the greatest of all time, but their second effort was spectacular.

A V-neck collar design with blue and white trim along the collar and sleeves is what makes this kit so special in terms of looks.

It was also the kit that Tottenham wore in the 1999 League Cup Final against Leicester City. Whenever a club wins a tournament of some sort, the kit usually becomes embedded in the Club’s history, whether it looked fantastic or not.

The 1997/98 season when Tottenham first used the kit was one to be forgotten. The club languished in 14th place, and after 20 rounds found themselves in 19th spot in danger of relegation.

The following season was a step-up, finishing 11th overall – nothing special, but the season highlight was winning the League Cup
