It is quite baffling to see one of the best strikers in the world playing as a midfielder for a team that is not blessed with goals at the moment. Having Lucas on the pitch at the same time as him should be great on paper as the Brazilian is pacey and creative on the ball. Instead Kane is playing provider for the striker Lucas which hasn’t delivered, and this makes it all the more confusing as to why Pochettino continues with this experiment. As for the game, Kane still had couple decent chances with a good header that was saved and a near miss from outside the box. We are yet to see Kane this season in a game with decent service to him, so I think he could improve his tally even more if Spurs manage to get it going.

Midfielder Eric Dier scored his first Premier League goal in 18 months for Tottenham Hotspur after just eight minutes in what looked like being a comfortable home win against Cardiff City at Wembley, but it turned out to be hard going for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Neil Warnock’s side would not just roll over, even when going down to ten men with Joe Ralls sent off for a reckless challenge on Lucas Moura after 59 minutes. The Welsh side had their opportunities to level, even hitting the Spurs post at one stage when Lloris palmed a shot onto the upright.

In the first half superb defending from Toby Alderweireld also denied the visitors.

Spurs got over the line in the end though to move up into third place in the table with Chelsea playing on Sunday.
