Tottenham Hotspur News - FA awaiting Assou-Ekotto report
News | Sam Parker | December 14, 2009 at 2:03 pm
The FA are waiting on a report from Saturday’s defeat to Wolves before they decide to launch any investigation into the conduct of Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
Assou-Ekotto had an angry confrontation with a supporter at the end of the game and had to be dragged away by Joe Jordan.
Police are currently investigating ‘an allegation of assault’ in relation to the incident and if it ends up in referee Stuart Attwell’s match report, then the FA could launch their own probe.
The supporter in question made the allegation against the Cameroon international and has given his version of events to the police, whilst Joe Jordan has given a statement as well.
Spurs are also conducting their own investigation into the incident through CCTV footage.
