Tottenham Hotspur midfielder David Bentley is said to be a target for Aston Villa.
According to Sky Sports, Villa boss Martin O’Neill is prepared to rekindle his interest in the England international.
Bentley impressed during the absence of Aaron Lennon during the second half of Tottenham’s season, but it remains to be seen if he’s a part of Harry Redknapp’s long-term plans at White Hart Lane.

If they offer us Curtis Davies plus money i would take it. Bentley did ok last season no better than that and if the rumours are true and we get turan he can play on the right to cover lennon and we also have Kranjcar who can play there as well
Obviously DB did not work out as well as we had hoped and £15m for someone that ends up a squad player is a bit pricey.
But in Bentley’s defence he is the only one of our players to have that edge that you need in the top flight. He is the guy who drags the ball to the corner in injury time, who winds up the opponents, who appeals for everything, who has the nuts to try something crazy, those sort of things matter. Maybe they only matter 5% but sometimes that is enough and who will do it if he is sold. Plus if we did buy a #9 type striker then his crossing would be very valuable.
are u kidding me curtis davies, i would give bentley away for plus we give them 5million for milner
Bentley is a very average player and I hope we sell him over the summer. I would take anything over £8mill cash
Can't see the appeal for Young he hasn't wowed anyone while playing for Villa, the only Villa player who has looked good is Milner and he looks like he is going to plod of to Manchester
we should sell bentley purely beacuse he has not been the impact signing we first thought. we should accept anything above 12m, but really what we should do is go for milner. i say 15m plus bentley
Really can't see any merit in this whatsoever. Perhaps last season you'd have said that Bentley wasn't going to be a player Spurs could rely upon. But he's bit the bullet and definitely turned it around for both himself and the team. If by comparison you look at Young's performances for Villa, you'd have to ask if he can attain anything for Spurs than he didn't deliver for them?. England don't seem to rate much either, so why spend on a fix that doesn't need fixing?
