Bent transfer saga takes another turn

Aston Villa and Hull City are reported to have entered the race to sign Darren Bent.
Just when it seemed as if the Tottenham Hotspur striker was finally set to sign for Sunderland, another spanner has been thrown in the works.
According to reports, both Villa and Hull are prepared to match Tottenham’s valuation of £14million, which could leave the Black Cats to be snubbed by yet another player.
Bent’s time at White Hart Lane look to be numbered, he was due to travel with the rest of the Spurs squad to China for a pre-season tournament, but left the plane just before take-off when news of a deal with Sunderland emerged.
It could be an interesting 24 hours.
