Gallas could play West Brom clash

William Gallas could be set for his Tottenham debut on Saturday as injuries have left Spurs short at the back.
Gallas was being eased into the squad again, as he wasn’t match fit, but Michael Dawson’s injury on England duty meant Spurs arranged a friendly against QPR to ensure he got some minutes under his belt.
He could now be in line for a place in the squad, if not the first team for Saturday’s trip to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion.
Sebastien Bassong and Younes Kaboul are also in line for a start in the centre of defence, whilst the usual late fitness checks will be carried out on Ledley King’s knee.
Harry Redknapp expressed his relief at landing Gallas’ signiture, and could he could also be used in Spurs’ opening Champions League fixture against Werder Bremen.
“Thank God I went out and got William Gallas on a free transfer. That is looking an even better bit of business under the circumstances,” Redknapp said after Dawson’s injury.
