Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is to re-open taks with Zenit St Petersburg, according to his agent.

The 27-year-old has slipped to fourth choice in the attacking pecking order at White Hart Lane and is unhappy to be on the bench.

“He does not intend to sit on the bench,” said Pavlyuchenko’s representative Oleg Artemov.

“We are aware of Zenit’s interest. They wanted to sign Roman in the summer and I think we’ll start negotiations again.”

    Hopefully he will leave this time. I hate seeing him on the bench. They don’t deserve him.

    Agreed. He is a good player and needs to play. Harry isn’t being fair. Praises him but does not give him much chances to play. Unless Keane and Crouch pick up long term injuries, don’t think he will be part of the team. Love for him 2 stay at Spurs, but he should leave for the good of his future.

    Our strikers are scoring goals and playing well.

    If the strikers stop scoring he will get his turn but for now Pav will just have to work hard and wait his time.

    That’s life in a top footballing club. Just like the BPL, if Spurs want to break into the top 4, then Spurs got to fight for the right to be in the top four. And its been years of fighting thru blood, sweat, emotions and even frustrations. But the fight is still on and never over. If Pav wants to be playing in the first eleven for this club, then that’s what he’s got to do. If not, he could choose other club with lower ambitions and lower expectations. Cos that’s life, AND LIFE’S NOT FAIR.

    I actually think Pav’s a better player than Crouch. But Harry loves Crouch.

    I agree, Pav is better than Crouch and you would think after paying so much money for him we he would get a run in the team at some point. So far he showed signs of quality but was obviously tired last season, who know how good he could be with a run of games, if we let him go without giving him a chance it could come back to bite us.

    My main argument for Pav over Crouch is that when Crouch plays the team cannot resist lumping long balls up to him, that doesnt suit our game. Not Crouch’s fault at all but perhaps with Pav we have a more effective alternative to either Keane or Defoe when a change is necessary. Also Pav is a much better finisher than Crouch.

    If spurs had been in Europe Pav would have got more chances to play. The other strikers are scoring goals so Harry can’t be criticised but football can change very quick with injuries so Pav may still get a decent run.
    Like Bent he will probably go and score bags of goals.
