Josip Ilicic’s agent has claimed that Tottenham are tracking the Slovenian.
Ilicic has made a big impact at Palermo since joining from NK Maribor in the summer, scoring eight times in 23 matches.
Armir Ruznic, the player’s agent says that there hasn’t been contact with Spurs, but the interest from White Hart Lane is ‘indisputable.’
Spurs will now duke it out with other unnamed English sides for the Slovenian midfielder’s signature, whilst there is also reported interest from Spain.
“I have not had contact with Tottenham executives, but it is indisputable that the player is liked by the English club.
“For Ilicic, there are several teams in the English and Spanish league, as well as the Italian one, interested, but at present there is nothing concrete that would suggest a departure from palermo at the end of the season.
“Also, president (maurizio) Zamparini has confirmed to me on several occasions his intention to build a team around the likes of Ilicic and Armin Bacinovic to help his team aspire to make major breakthroughs, like Champions League qualification.
“In the near future we’ll be discussing their contractual situations, but the players shouldn’t be leaving Palermo in the next two years.”
