Reports in one of today’s papers are linking Spurs midfielder Luka Modric with a £20million move to Chelsea.

Spurs fans will obviously discard this speculation as nothing more than a rumour.  Harry Redknapp is known to be a massive fan of the Croatian, and with a Champions League place secured for next season there is no way that he will sell Modric – especially for £20million.

The 24-year-old moved to White Hart Lane in 2008 for £16.5million and signed a six-year contract.  Manchester United are also said to be keen on his services.

    Modric is a key member of Tottenham's team de force! The players' brilliance is because they have gelled as a team so we need to keep: Modric, Bale, Dawson, King, Gomes and quite a few others that have been rumoured to be of interest to the pillaging moneyed clubs.

    We are not guaranteed a CL place we will have to get through a nasty qualifier.

    As you said in your article he cost us 16.5m and has 4 years left on his contract.

    We bought him as a player who was an international but playing for Dinamo Zagreb.

    Now he is proven EPL quality why on earth would we sell him for £3.5m more than we bought for him.

    I could imagine him being sold for £33 – £35m nothing less. Our chairman is still Levy right!!!

    Why would we sell an integral member of our team to a rival at a discount price of £20 million if we intend to make even more progress next season!!

    Why would we sell Modric it would mean we would have to replace him and even if we did get 30 mil for him who would we replace him with and at what cost.The cost would be more than 30 mil and probably mean a step backwards for the club.If you have a gem that your'e happy with why swap it for something inferior.He's the best midfielder I have at Spurs since Hoddle at 24 he is just going to get better and mark my words the goals will come…..He's going nowhere!

    This is what we are going to get all summer, no doubt tomoorow it will be us selling or buying someone else. Is it likely we would pay 18 mil for a player 2 years later after his best spell in the team we sell him to a rival for 20mil? I think not!!!!!
