Parks: It’s a shame Gomes isn’t English

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeping coach Tony Parks believes that Heurelho Gomes fully deserves his place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.
After a superb season in between the posts for Spurs, Gomes was named in Dunga’s 23-man squad for the campaign in South Africa after a year in the wilderness.
“I know he was fairly pessimistic about his chances,” Parks told the Ham & High. “I don’t know the ins and outs of the Brazil set-up but he kept missing out. I seem to remember that they were taking some squads with only two keepers, and the decisions didn’t seem to be based on form.
“The guy from Roma, Doni, kept getting in the squad when he wasn’t even getting in the Roma team. We were all surprised that Gomes wasn’t getting picked for his country.
“I remember chatting out on the training pitch with Carlo and he said ‘you can’t call yourself a world-class player until you’ve played in England’, and I think Gomes has been the best keeper in the Premier League this season. It’s a shame he’s not English!

have to agree 100% with this. Every1 put joe hart as goalkeeper of the year, but some of the saves gomes has made this year like the free kick at pompey and the 3 arsenal chances were saves hart, given and reina could only dream of. Cannot think of a better keeper to have in the premiership atm
Letss give him English citzenship, and our wifes, then we win the world cup.
Other than some rash decision making, and the odd positional lapse, he is certainly one of the best in the world. I don't think there's anyone in the EPL capable of making reflex saves like he does. His shot stopping is phenomenal, as is his bravery in coming off the line to cut down attacks and pick up crosses. He gets kicked, thrown around and ridiculed, and all he does is get up, give a daft grin and produce another clean sheet.
You can say the same about Bale.
Bale can play goalkeeper too. Is there no end to his talents?
Still remember him when he got slaughtered at the Fulham game ,he made 2 saves from free kicks that were unreal ,but nothing was said about them ,only about the cock up
