Player Ratings vs Doncaster

Cudicini (9) – Kept us in it early on, some top quality shot stopping
Naughton (7) – Pretty solid full debut. Loads of speed and has a very confident and heads up air about him going forward.
Hutton (6) – Out of position at left back and later at centre half so unfair to lay into him too much but it all looked a bit of a struggle.
Corluka (7) – Much more assured in the middle than last week at Hull. Only one of the likely starters against Birmingham to play the full 90.
Bassong (6) – Completely bamboozled by what was going on for the opening period of the game. Not authoritative enough.
Bentley (7) – Made two goals and scored a third. Set piece delivery a good deal more dangerous than Luka’s. Gives the ball away far far too often and too easily with casual flicks and bad decision making. Made a difference though.
Huddlestone (8) – Excellent passing all night. Great awareness for his goal which he took superbly.
O’Hara (6) – Sucked into the general mess on the left early on, much improved as we gained control.
Giovani (7) – Played wide on the left. Lots of skill of course. His direct running should definitely make Harry think that he’s worth persisting with on the bench at least.
Crouch (7) – Worked non-stop and put himself about. Combined with the midfield well and doesn’t mind being called Rodney Trotter. Nice header for his goal.
Pavlyuchenko (6) – The odd glimpse of quality but not a performance that is going to make Redknapp rush to start him. No signs of forming a partnership with Crouch.

Pav was not interested all night and if someone offered £10m we should snap their hand off.
Dos Santos was a handful, O’Hara worked hard 2nd half…Huddestone and Cordluka were sheer class and Cudicini pulled off some great saves early on to keep the home crowd quiet.
Rose came on and was quick and lively, Hutton played well put himself about and got forward with pace
