Redknapp jokes Messi wants Spurs move

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has joked that Barcelona ace Lionel Messi would like to join the club.
Redknapp was being quizzed outside Spurs Lodge by Sky Sports News and was much calmer than he was in the now famous YouTube video.
When asked if there’s one player he’d like to sign, Redknapp joked: “Well, we’ve spoken to Lionel [Messi] – he really wants to play for Tottenham Hotspur.â€

I have come on a spurs website or is this a gooner one?? There seems a distinct spirit of unrest among supporters? Arry knows/knew we need signings but the market hasn't been conducive for deals- there are loads clubs who are looking for players but all have had to tighten the purse- many who are complaining will see how gate receipts falling & be glad we didn't splosh the dosh on potential better players than we have already!!

I think this would be a really good signing. Yes, we already have Bale for the left hand side, but he is bound to get injured at some stage during the season and Messi would be a decent replacement. He's also very comfortable on the right hand side. Fingers crossed we can wrap this one up
Does anyone really think it's Harry's fault we haven't signed more players? I'm sure he'd love to have Fabiano, Diarra, Cole and Young added to the squad. They were all deemed too expensive, either in transfer fees or wages. We also over-priced Jenas and co, and couldn't offload them.
Levy sees this as a season of consolidation, and doesn't want to overreach till the stadium deal is sealed. In terms of ambition and expectation, we are marginally ahead of Villa and Everton, but lagging behind City and, sadly, Liverpool. Aiming for 6th, and madly hoping for 4th. Let's just hope that Harry stays put if someone with more ambition comes calling.

hey..if we win the champions league on our current bunch of flash in the pan players then we can sign him…seing as we havnt spent any decent money this window on any decent players to make tottenham a more decent team..i think we can consider giving messi a decent 20 million pound signing on fee
