Spurs to bid for Blackburn’s Samba?

News | admin | January 2, 2011 at 1:04 pm

Blackburn are set to receive an offer from Tottenham for unsettled defender Christopher Samba.

That is what is being reported by the Mirror.  Samba was unhappy with the sacking of Sam Allardyce at the end of last year and wants out of Ewood Park.

Although Spurs have six central defenders, there are still fitness doubts over Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King.

Fulham are also keen on the 26-year-old, but Spurs are said to be favourites.

Not sure about this one as Khumalo Bongani will be arriving anytime soon

I count 7 central defenders not 6… You forgot Khumalo… which makes this story less genuine.

lazy reporting by the Mirror. This is a non starter.if Bassong goes and Bongo Bob doesnt measure up, then Caulker is more likely to be the next defender in the mix. Samba is decent, and his agent may put some words in the ears of the press, but dont believe all you hear in the newspaper.

Treu! Harry said few days ago that we not goin for Samba, whats the point of making the story up!

While I would love to see Samba at Spurs, there is just no room for him. My ideal central defender pairing would be Dawson and Kaboul with Gallas as cover. Woodgate is a lost cause. I do not trust King any more. I feel uncomfortable whenever Bassong plays. Khumalo is untested but doubt hell be anything special.
