According to reports in Brazil, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are battling it out for Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas.

The 18-year-old has already appeared four times for the national team and has caught the eye since making his debut for his club last year.  AC Milan are also said to be keeping tabs on him.

“I read that I have decided to go to Italy, but that isn’t true,” he told Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo.

“At the moment my thinking is to continue and improve at Sao Paulo because I am young and need more experience before making the leap to Europe, but I haven’t yet decided where I will go.”
