Stoke want Wilson Palacios

News | admin | August 2, 2011 at 12:11 pm

Stoke City are interested in signing Spurs midfielder Wilson Palacios.

The Honduran international has found himself down in the midfield pecking order at Tottenham behind the likes of Sandro and Tom Huddlestone.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has made Palacios one of his key targets as he looks to bolster his midfield.

Pulis “We are threadbare at the moment. Fingers crossed we can bring one or two players in over the next few days.”

Great at winning the ball, but, even better at giving it away again. Two seasons ago he stupidly announced he wanted to play for a big club, then, was never the same again, now he could be signing for Stoke. What a plonker. At least he’ll find his true level.

I have my reservations in offloading with the events unfolding at Spurs for now. We cannot offload at random in the light of us unable to meet salary demands of our new recruits. This is a technical area where Harry & the coaches need to put their minds together before offloading. We may regret having sold some of them by shooting ourselves in the foot.

Yes but are they willing to PAY the money or do they think they can get him for a couple of mill ? LOL

Come on , SHOW US YOUR MONEY so we can start to bring in some much needed players

If Stoke is not able to afford (let say 8M) or Diarra is costly in wages, then Sergeant will still be very helpful. Who knows, if Modric goes, we may be forced to play 2 DM

Let's clear fast. We still have more (Jenas, Keane, Crouch, Bentley, Bassong, Hutton)

Agreed. But what about Sandro's injury? – will we be leaving ourselves short in the DM department?

I think we'll keep Bassong otherwise we'll be short a centre half.
Kabul and Dawson are the current LONG term partnership we should be looking to establish.

Crouch is also a great 4th option we should look to keep unless we bring in someone similar.

IF HE GOES HE WILL NEED HIS MAM TO HOLD HIS HAND

Hard player and what a lot of bloody Spurs fans forget is it was Wilson who gave us something we never had for a long while a guy in the middle who could scare the other team with some real old fashioned tough tackling. If he goes good luck to him he has been a great player for us who deserves better than some of the wankers who support this great little club. The guy had his brother butchered and the fans turned on him because he was having problems dealing with it.Give the guy a break .Good luck sgt Wilson hope it works out for you.

When Crouch plays we don’t play the Tottenham way. The temptation to hit long balls to him is too great for our players to resist and he has neither the ball control nor the speed of thought to use these passes cleverly and effectively. He should be one of the first out of the door, closely followed by the talented-but-always-disappointing Jenas, Keane, Bentley, Corluka and probably Palacios, unless someone can teach him to identify his teammates correctly. Oh ..and Dos Santos. I’d like to see Danny Rose, Jake Livermore and some of the other youngsters given more of a chance. John Bostock anyone?
