Sunderland to offer £8million for Keane

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is considering an £8m bid for Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, who is currently on loan at Celtic.

The Black Cats were interested in signing Keane in January, but were put off by the £10million fee and his wages of £65,000 a week.

With Sunderland securing their Premier League status for another season, owner Ellis Short is to hand Steve Bruce funds to strengthen his squad.

Bruce is also interested in signing Alan Hutton for around £3.5million.
