Super Pav set to extend Spurs stay

Roman Pavlyuchenko

Roman Pavlyuchenko is reportedly in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a new contract, according to his agent.

Spurs fans have had to put up with a year of speculation reporting another destination for the luxury Russian, but it seems the board are now willing to extend the striker’s stay at White Hart Lane.

A year ago, Pavlyuchenko was close to moves to Birmingham or back home to Russia, but instead played a pivotal role in Spurs clinching a place in this season’s Champions League.

Whilst speculation has remained that he could be moved on, Oleg Artemov has hinted that his client could be set to sign a new deal.

“Redknapp wouldn’t sell Pavlyuchenko now.

“The same can be said of the chairman (Daniel) Levy.

“Three months ago, Levy suggested Roman sign a new contract on improved terms. We are in negotiations and discussing the details.”

Artemov also suggested there would be a shake up of Spurs’ striking options, even if his client is set to remain with the club.

“Robbie Keane will most likely be sold and maybe Crouch.

“Roman isn’t even considering the option of returning to Russia anymore.

“He has changed greatly over the two-and-a-half years in London and has a different perspective.

“If we extend the contract with Tottenham, Roman will probably never play again in the Russian championship.”

this is even better news than last nights result. if crouch leaves it would be the icing on the cake of a great 2010

There is now way Pavlyuchenko will be kept on he proved last night his work rate is not good enough he has terrible control and gives the ball away to many times Crouch has more control works harder and can set up goals like Vans and Lennons plus he helps in defence at corners and free kicks. Sell Pav back to the Russian Maffia and buy Yong Wickam keep Keane he will come good and Wickham will learn and wait and could score like Carrol .

how many times does crouch give the ball away ? and defoe for that matter? Pav is by no means the finished article but id pick him ahead of crouch anyday Crouch, for all his height his aerial abiltiy is atrocious, and when he does win a header a free kick is usually given agisnt him. he slows down play , cant run , cant shoot cross or pass. which should only ever play him from the bench as a long ball option. He only plays cos harry has his favourites and crouch is one of them

davspurs… Crouch has more control? Are you blind? All he does is his juggling tricks he picked up from the circus he came from! He can't even shoot!!! and he is a striker!
